Please advise if it is ok for Taoist to keep Guan Yin or would it be more appropriate to keep another deity for protection and cultivation? Is it better to Keep Di Zhu or Tu Di Gong in home? If there is no Taoist priest available in immediate vicinity can one utilize a Buddhist temple for Kai Guang?
It is perfectly fine for a Taoist to honour Guan Yin. If you are looking at cultivation, you may honour deities such as Lu Dongbin and other immortals. If there is no priest around your town, I would recommend you to consult a priest in private to instruct you how you may conduct a simple prayer to enshrine it in your home. =)
